HC PREFNOTE

Provider Preference Cards — Support

Frequently Asked Questions

What is HC PrefNote?

HC PrefNote is a mobile app for healthcare professionals to build, search, and share provider preference cards across any clinical department — all stored locally on your device with no login required.

Is my data stored in the cloud?

No. All preference cards are stored locally on your device. No data is sent to any server. Your library is private and accessible only on your device.

How do I back up my preference cards?

Go to Settings → Backup → Export Backup (JSON). This saves a copy of all your cards as a JSON file you can store anywhere — Files app, iCloud Drive, email, etc. To restore, use Settings → Backup → Import Backup (JSON).

How do I share a card with a colleague?

Open any preference card and tap the share icon in the action bar. You can share as a .hcpref file (via AirDrop, Messages, email, etc.) or display a QR code for a colleague to scan with their HC PrefNote app.

How do I restore my Pro subscription?

Go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchase. Your subscription will be restored using your App Store or Google Play account. Make sure you are signed in with the same account used for the original purchase.

What does Pro include?

HC PrefNote Pro unlocks advanced search across all fields, card duplication, PDF export for printing, and unlimited custom department templates. Preference cards themselves are unlimited on all plans.

Can I use this app for patient records?

No. HC PrefNote is designed for provider preference notes only. Do not store patient names, MRNs, dates of birth, diagnoses, or any other protected health information in this app.

How do I delete all my data?

Go to Settings → Data → Clear All Local Data. This permanently deletes all preference cards from your device. This action cannot be undone — export a backup first if you want to keep your data.
